Mira Apartments Now Open On Kindley Street

Tucked just off to the side, but not hidden away, is the newest apartment building to downtown Raleigh. Mira Raleigh brings around 280 homes to Kindley Street. Not familiar with Kindley Street? That’s because it’s basically a dead-end street off Salisbury Street. More plans for the area are in the works which could see this spot have even more development in the future.

New Bern Avenue TOD Rezoning Summer Check-in

Embedded above (direct link here) is the video from the June 4, 2024 Raleigh City Council meeting where the latest updates and discussion took place related to the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) rezoning case for the New Bern Avenue corridor. We’ve been following this for awhile now and the rezoning case here, which sets to change the zoning for over 700 properties on or near the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit line for New Bern Avenue, is being worked on in phases. I wanted to share my notes and provide a summary of the latest.

Upcoming NC Museum of History Renovations Planned

The North Carolina Museum of History has announced plans for upcoming renovations and will slowly close throughout 2024. The main thing to takeaway is that the museum will close to the public in October but the shop will remain open through almost the end of the year. (Dec 29) Details seem light from the announcement but they’re teasing an “exciting transformation” that will take about three years.
