Demolition fencing is up around the Garland H Jones building. Sad that renovation did not happen here. The floors are being gutted out now so get down there and take some last minute pics before the future occurs.

BB&T, why do you hate downtown? Why can’t you turn on your lights when it gets dark? You spent all that money on upgrading your signage recently and now you want to stay in the shadows while tons of people roam downtown during dinner time. Stop showing up late to the party and flip the switch before the sun sets, ok? Thanks!

State Highway Commission and Museum of Art in one building on East Morgan St.

I found an old photo taken off the NCDOT website of the building in 1923. Looks like the art museum came after the Highway commission.

I’ll be out of town for several days so blogging slows down yet again. I’ll be somewhere that has plenty of skyscrapers to make you skyline fanatics pee your pants.

Is Hillsborough St. too dark at night? The trees are great during the day but add to the darkness at night. It is going to take more lights then Fayetteville St. to properly light up the sidewalks here.
