Things are moving along nicely at the corner of McDowell and Davie Streets where downtown Raleigh’s next hotel will open. The Tempo by Hilton and Homewood Suites Raleigh Downtown, a dual-brand hotel, will have about 260 rooms.
The Tempo brand is a new offering from CN Hotels and it’s actually the first one in North Carolina and the second one in the country. They are also claiming that the rooftop bar and restaurant, on the 13th floor, will be the tallest in the Triangle. That sounds right with The Willard being on the seventh and Tenth and Terrace on the tenth floor. Another rooftop bar, High Rail, is coming over at Seaboard Station but that won’t be as tall as the Tempo.
The hotel should be open this Fall.
