Last time we checked in on The Acorn hotel, it was just a cleared site. Today, we can see the stairway (elevator?) shafts being constructed. I’ve noticed that these usually are the first to go up followed by the wood construction afterwards. I’ll have to check back soon as these will go to seven floors before that even starts.

I imagine in no time, we’ll really start to see this project take shape. This is a great location for the TownePlace Suites-branded hotel as it’s an easy walking distance to City Market and Fayetteville Street. We also don’t have much of the “longer stay” branded hotels so this is nice that downtown will have that option.
