I recently took a stroll down West Street and checked out Glenwood South’s latest residential project. The Alexan looks set to open later this year, with much of the exterior work nearing completion. The homes with balconies on the north side will offer a great view overlooking the train tracks.

Glenwood South continues to be the district with the highest residential density. However, after The Alexan wraps up, there might be a lull in construction here. Future projects, like the one planned for the Char Grill lot, appear to be on hold for now. Similarly, plans for development along West Street, north of Peace Street, have been in limbo for years without any recent updates.

Even Smoky Hollow Park isn’t planned to start this year, as current plans put it at 2026 to begin construction. Let’s hope for some solid news for Glenwood South in 2025.
