Newest Apartment Building in Glenwood South Looks to be Getting Started

Remember The Alexan? The site between West and Harrington Street (or where you used to park when driving to 42nd Street Oyster Bar) is now being cleared. Perhaps this means that the 180 or so apartment building that we saw plans for earlier last year is going to get started.

I don’t think there is anything too unique about this project, we’ve seen these buildings before. Expect to see a floor of concrete and maybe five stories of wood construction above it. Improved sidewalks will are always welcome. Now if we can just get the train track crossing at both West and Harrington cleaned up for all users.

More residential makes sense in the year 2023 as housing prices are still relatively high around the country and the area is still growing. We’ll check back in once the crane is put in place.
