I’ve been out of town for almost a week so I went on a walk around downtown yesterday for some blog content. I did notice that RBC Plaza is growing at a steady pace. If anyone is unclear about what floor we are on, this may shed some light on things. Only 5 more to go!
Here is how large objects such as cars and boats are loaded into the new convention center. This block has a large ramp that goes down into this opening under McDowell St. and under the convention center. There are no plans for the block shown as of yet. It is my understanding that this block is to remain an open space and will be saved for any future expansion.

I took this picture looking south from the top floor of the Moore Square parking lot. The recent demolition on the four acre block, mostly owned by Progress Energy, has calmed down and there is nothing left but the corner buildings against Wilmington St. I do not think they stand a chance in the near future but nothing really has been announced for this area, except the parking deck,……or has there??
