The team behind the Raleigh Convention Center have put out new renderings of the upcoming expansion and I’ll be posting them here for posterity. The expansion adds almost 300,000 square feet to our existing 500,000 foot building. That should help Raleigh land larger conventions and events. If they can keep that thing full all year round, the downtown business traffic should get a nice boost for all of us to enjoy.
I think the city is trying to name the area “The Complex” as you can see from this new website. The combination of the Convention Center, the performing arts center, and Red Hat form “The Complex” apparently. I’m still not sure how I feel about this but I’ll wait and see how things look and feel once buildings start opening up.
Let’s leave it at that and just list off the rest of the renderings.
