Video of the Week

Watch a video of Raleigh City Farm from Laurel Varnado on Vimeo.

We envision a small central farm located in downtown Raleigh that grows and markets food in the city. Core operations are self-sufficient, sustained by revenue from sales to Raleigh residents and restaurants. We are part of a sustainable food system that provides competitively priced fresh produce while restoring the environment.

  1. We’re huge supporters of Jonathan and his team working on bringing this vision to downtown!

As MLK said “The question is not whether we will be extremists, but what kind of extremists we will be…The nation and the world are in dire need of creative extremists.”

Please support this movement by donating time or money and help make this happen!

  2. I always thought that the 7 acres that the Raleigh Rescue Mission owns at 600 New Bern Ave. would be the perfect place for an Urban Garden. Large enough for several plots and would benefit that neighborhood tremendously. Win-Win for everybody.

  3. Possibility of animals? At any rate, it’d be another nice place to escape while still being in the middle of the city. The Rescue Mission land is a good spot as well. I’d imagine a mixture between community garden/farm, community center, and some much required services (ie. grocery).
