The southern end of Fayetteville Street is now off limits! Construction fencing is up around the parking lots in front of the performing arts center and currently, trees are being removed. This is all in preparation for the ground breaking of the new Omni Hotel and the future 600 block of Fayetteville Street.

The 600-room hotel will serve an expanded Raleigh Convention Center, which has yet to start construction. We’ll also get one more block of Fayetteville Street as it will end right at the front door of the performing arts center, which is also getting a minor facelift.

This is a huge project for our downtown and expect frequent updates on this one. Of course, if you want more frequent updates, follow this thread on the Community.
