2026 should definitely see the opening of Oldham & Worth, the apartment building showing off some brick over on West Cabarrus Street. That’ll be another 250 homes on the edge of downtown which will continue to help increase the downtown resident population. This location is pretty stellar as you are a few blocks from all kinds of interesting things.
For one, a five-minute walk puts you into the warehouse district, where a grocery store (Weaver Street Market) is located. You can use Union Station to travel around the triangle with GoTriangle or places beyond with Amtrak. Of course, there are dozens of restaurants and bars. You can be on Fayetteville Street in about 10 minutes or staring at a troll in Dix Park in about 15 minutes.
The Dix Park connection from downtown, whatever that ends up being, may come through here making these new digs a pretty nice place to be.
