It’s not exciting to most people when a construction site is cleared out and all you see is equipment driving huge drill bits into the ground. However, if you’re reading this, I want to think you might be among the few that actually do get excited for this kind of stuff. We’re past the ribbon cutting and demolition at this point and foundation/site work is underway at Highline Glenwood.
There’s quite a bit of space here but the 37-story residential tower will contribute to Raleigh’s densest residential neighborhood of Glenwood South. As the street continues to cater to nightlife today, there just has to be a sea change one day where the needs of the nearby residents, who can walk to the spaces in and around the street, will dictate what shops and restaurants open up here. Something is clearly working though as residential buildings continue to come.
This one will be great to watch throughout 2026. I hope the next update involves a crane.
