Beginning in January, visitors to downtown will have a new way to pay for on-street parking as new pay stations are installed.

Amazing, installing these before widen and fixing sidewalks. These meters are going to be an eyesore.
As said before, money better be used to fix pathetic downtown roads (actually, embarrassing downtown roads) and new wide sidewalks (that all look alike).
P.S. Along with awful sidewalks and roads Raleigh needs to read the article in Triangle Business Journal. Austin, Tx lost big convention to Vegas because of lack of hotels (and retail). DRA, city council and Chamber of Commerce NEED are you listening? It won’t be long before Raleigh starts losing conventions.
