One Year Ago, 222 Glenwood Before and After

222 in July ’08. Almost done.

I remember after the warehouse on this spot was demolished that construction seemed to crawl but once the foundation was finished, the parking deck and steel rose rather quickly throughout 2007. Now, 222 Glenwood is almost finished, the sidewalk is open (officially?), and we now have some new retail coming on the ground floor. This includes:

Tobacco Road Sports Café (read their blog)
Hairdos (coming soon pic)
Bruegger’s Bagels
Dunkin Donuts / Baskin Robbins
Gianni & Gaitano’s

  1. Is there still a possibility to replace Gianni’a? There food is below average when it comes to Italian (I grew up on authentic Italian, this is not even close). Would like to see a steak house in there (what happened to Morton’s?).

Only great news: Dunkin Donuts (excellent coffee!)

  2. Ditto…did a kindergartener design this? love the four-sqaure tiny little windows. this building will be falling down in 10 years.

  3. Are they going to put awnings or dress up the retail spaces on the outside? Or leave the plain ugly look it is in this picture?
