DT Raleigh Chatter for September 3rd, 2010

The first half of my nighttime DT Raleigh run was spent alongside a skateboarder. He stared at my bare feet, I at his cutoff skinny jeans.

Is there anything to do in downtown Raleigh other than eat? This city sucks.

TiffanyFuchsia needs to get out more and explore.

It is like this: Damn if you do, damn if you don’t. If you are a lonely soul, searching for romance, DT Raleigh – like most downtowns – will disappoint. If you want to get together with friends and have a dinner, dance and/or enjoy a few drinks, then DT Raleigh is far from the disappointing place this girl is making it to be. Yes, people want to go out and eat, like they do in every place on this planet. Show me a lively city that doesn’t get its bulk of [evening] activity because of its restaurants and entertainment venues. Not to mention art exhibits, comedy clubs and live music venues, which our downtown also offers.

Of course, there are amenities we can add to make our downtown better and more desirable. A movie theater (besides the IMAX), a bowling alley, real pastry shops and many more amenities we can think, but restaurants usually come first. I guess people will always find something to complain about.
