Project skyline

This is the first part of a sub-project to this blog. There is no doubt that Raleigh’s image will change over the next few years. New buildings are just mushrooming all over downtown and this monthly installment will attempt to follow that change. Every month I will take a skyline picture from my favorite spot in the area, the Boylan Ave. Bridge. It just so happened that today was a nice day so it inspired me to start this project.

Right now its just two pictures pasted together, but hopefully in the future I will upgrade my camera so that it will look better and at a higher resolution.

We should expect RBC plaza to start making an appearance over the next few months. If you can see the crane right in the middle, that’s where it will be. The crane will also be raised as the building gains height. The 3 cranes on the right are working on the convention center, which is at its maximum height, and the Marriott hotel. We should see the hotel rising up and adding some length to this skyline shot. The railroad area in the foreground is planned for a train station for the future TTA rail system. This area will be developed in the future as well.
